Marc's "Weeklies" - This is like when your parents leave town and you have a party

Yeah. Marc's in Chicago so I get to do the weeklies again. This is Jamie.

And I have something to say about you guys. Having done Marc's booking for a couple of months, I can attest to one thing - that Marc's fans ROCK!

You all have done so much - house concerts, promotion - special shout out to Linda in Chicago, Leah in Springfield, Laura in Cedar Rapids, John in Winchester, KY.

You guys share the passion of Marc's music - and he genuinely cares about how his music affects others. He wants to inspire others, and does. He is generous with his time and treasure - benefit shows, producing CD's that benefit charities, promoting other musicians.

We are all better for knowing Marc. And Marc's true fans understand this.

Thanks, fans!!! I love you ALL!

SONG OF THE WEEK - My choice - "Gypsy Rover" - produced by the brilliant Ari on "Irish Drinking Songs" newly reissued - look for it!

This Week:

-- Quote of the Week: From one of my favorite authors - Paolo Coelho: "When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change; at such a moment, there is no point in pretending that nothing has happened or on saying we are not ready. The challenge will not wait. Life does not look back. A week is more than enough time for us to decide whether or not to accept our destiny."

-- CD of the Week: The sexiest and most poignant song - Marc discovered this listening to the Smithsonian Folkways podcasts - the amazing Nancy Dupree singing "A Woman's Praise" from the CD "A Letter to Young Sisters and Other Poems." Astonishing. Grab the person you love the most and listen to this.

-- Book of the Week: "Emigrants and Exiles: Ireland and the Irish Exodus to North America" by Kerby A. Miller - award-winning book that thoroughly examines the phenomenon that shaped modern American and Ireland.

-- Interesting article: Have to acknowledge all the MJ hoohaa.
Read it. Why is it that some creative people cannot function in the real world?
