Mistaken Instrument Identity: Autoharp, Zither, Dulcimer, & Harpsichord
The autoharp is such an obscure folk instrument that it seems no one ever remembers what it is called. Since 1999 I've had people call it a dozen different things from Zither to Dulicmer, Harpsichord to Harp, or even a Hammer Dulcimer. But I'm sorry to say, it is just called the Autoharp or Chromaharp by some.

My Pick of the Best Autoharps to buy for Newbies
Everyone has their own preference when it comes to autoharps. Some like diatonic 'harps, others like chromatic. Some like homemade autoharps, others can only afford the standard-Oscar Schmidt. That's where I am. I've been playing my OS since I started in 1998, and I love it. Sure, I'd love to try out a better autoharp, but for right now, Oscar Schmidt is the way to go!

Saving Money with a Chromaharp
So what's the big difference between Chromaharps and Autoharps? The main difference is the brand name. Chromaharp is a trademarked name from Rhythm Band, and I think, the Chromaharp has 37 instead of 36 strings. I've never really played one, so I'm not that familiar with them. But if you'd prefer a less expensive 'harp, try the Chromaharp.

The Return of Autoharp Radio!!!
Okay, at lonnnnnng last, I finally got my Autoharp Radio up and running on Live365. I don't have everything uploaded yet, but I added a LOT of music this weekend, starting with a lot of the people who first submitted music to me.
