Happy Birthday To You (and Me)
Okay, I have a vain confession... I love birthdays! But I don't like making a big deal about it. I know this sounds like nothing important, but to me, it kinda is. College was a horrible example of how I feel about my birthday. pop (Added: 18-Mar-2003 Hits: 1833)

Another Rockin' Weekend at I-Con
Got back from a most interesting weekend. It began with Andrew and I heading out for New York. There was a bit beefed up security, but we made it through fairly nicely. Then as we waited for the plane, Andrew dumped a big wake-up call to me. (Added: 5-Jan-2004 Hits: 217)

Christmas in Italy
I consider myself a very fortunate person. In 1985, my mother moved to Italy to work on an American Military Base in Italy. I had some great summer vacations, and I spent my Christmas in Italy a few times, sometimes even selling flowers in the markets of Padova, Italy. After graduation, trips grew less. Last Winter, I had another wonderful Christmas in Italy, and I want to take you on the journey with me. Without further adieu, I bring you my Christmas in Italy. (Added: 13-Jul-2003 Hits: 380)

College Women, the Lasses Are Back!
What a wonderful drive to work today. Listening to French Lessons dreaming about Livarot cheese and drinking Calvados. In my rear view mirror, I saw beautiful bronze college woman and her beau necking in the truck behind me with a huge Lab watching on. The passion and enthusiasm was such that I could almost hear them talking. Obviously, someone got some last night. ;) (Added: 5-Jan-2004 Hits: 204)

Excalibur Comes to a Close
Well, the faire comes to another year's end. I miss it already. I love that faire. It's my home. It's what I love most about Renaissance Festivals. Yes, it is small. You can walk the site in two hours. Then what? (Added: 5-Jan-2004 Hits: 215)

FUN FREE STICKERS in 5 Seconds or Less
I love free stickers! I love getting them. I love giving them away. I even love putting together wee websites that feature the cool free stickers around the net. (Added: 5-May-2004 Hits: 213)

Having an Austin Wedding?
If you're looking for great music for your Austin wedding, I have a great recommendation--the Brobdingnagian Bards. I know, I know. I play with the band, so I'm biased. But hey, don't take my word for it. Check out these referrals... (Added: 23-Dec-2003 Hits: 213)

Life Is Beautiful
I just got done seeing Bella é la vita again. Once again, I was left in tears. They well up even just thinking about the movie. Yeah, a real good cry. If ye haven't seen it, it's a must. Yes, it shows the evils of humanity, but it also shows the brilliance of love. (Added: 5-Jan-2004 Hits: 207)

Live Music Capitol of the World Inspiration
Sometimes there really is nothing like going out to see live music to find inspiration. I sure the heck did tonight! ... Finally, I came to 'Johnny I Hardly Knew Ye'. WOW! I loved it so much, I had to record it. (Added: 5-Jan-2004 Hits: 208)

More Fall Weather under the Texan sun
Later that evening, I went to see Under the Tuscan Sun. I understand it deviates greatly from the book, but the movie was a fantastic tale of discovery and rebirth. And of course, it left me aching for Italy all the more. (Added: 5-Jan-2004 Hits: 201)

Musical Genius at the Saxon Pub
I saw Patrice Pike perform tonight at the Saxon Pub. Man, she is one amazing performer and vocalist. Her voice left me mesmerized and still haunts my memories. (Added: 5-Jan-2004 Hits: 196)

No Troosers Day... A Pantless Success
Ah, there's nothing like a wee bit o'pantless entertainment to really add that extra spark to life. That's what happened at the Green Muse as we celebrated No Pants Day. (Added: 1-Jun-2004 Hits: 210)

Nothing like a Red Dwarf to make cure your space sickness blues
Okay, got meds this morning and had a relaxing evening last night watching 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets' when there was a knock at the door. I peered through the peep hole and saw a man dressed in brown, bent down... (Added: 1-Jun-2004 Hits: 208)

Nothing like professional editorial feedback
Last night, I had a nice meeting with Sci Fi/Fantasy author, Rie Sheridan. It was pretty cool. We got to talking about her success at Dragon*Con where she shared our tables. Plus, I learned about her seven different publishers. Wow! I can't imagine having one, let alone seven. (Added: 5-Jan-2004 Hits: 197)

Pet Peeve of the Day -- Bicyclists
I love to go bike riding. I remember biking the hour-long trip from Isola Mantegna where my mom lived to the military base in downtown Vicenza. That was a beautiful trip. Driving through the Italian countryside. Seeing the villas. Having Fiats pass me driving 60 mph on a two-way road that in the U.S. would be considered a one-lane road. One thing I learned in my biking travels... follow the friggin' laws! (Added: 5-Jan-2004 Hits: 222)

Pride before the fall? I hope not.
I'm feeling very proud today. Why? Because I'm making changes for the better. I'm really pleased with our latest CD, but at the same time, I feel that in order for us to progress to the next level, the next thing we need to work on is the music. (Added: 5-Jan-2004 Hits: 198)

Pump up the Friendship
I just got done watching Pump Up The Volume after getting a bunch of bard business resolved happily. The movie's not great, but I enjoy it. And it reinforces some of my own thoughts and fears and passion. (Added: 6-Jan-2004 Hits: 226)

Recovering from a Green St Patrick's Day Birthday
It's really interesting seeing the difference between St Patrick's Day in Austin and St Patrick's Day in College Station. At Mother Egan's, there was 'The Irish Come Down From the Mountain' theme with twelve hours of live Celtic and Bluesgrass music. (Added: 5-Jan-2004 Hits: 207)

Sleep, Kitties, and War
I got a full night sleep last night. Aw, yeah! I know it's kinda pathetic, but I haven't been getting near enough sleep to recover from last weekend. Well I did at last last night, and it felt great! (Added: 5-Jan-2004 Hits: 192)

Snarf!!! (Not just a funny word)
Many, many moons ago, I was a Dungeons & Dragons fanatic! Somewhere along the way, I started buying copies of Dragon Magazine. Then, when I had no one else to game with, I used Dragon to jumpstart my mind and move me to create adventure after adventure. (Added: 5-Jan-2004 Hits: 212)

Taking Pictures of the Perfect Sunset
It's odd to think that up North, people yesterday had record levels of snow, but here in Texas, high of 65, students were out in shorts, the air was fresh and clean, and God was hard at work painting one of the most-beautiful sunsets imaginable with pink and bluish-purple streaks opposite the sunset. (Added: 18-Mar-2003 Hits: 303)

The afterglow--shining brightly after CD Release
I'm still aglow from last night's show at the Cactus Cafe. Man, what an evening. I know it's silly with as many shows as we've had since the Bards formed in 1999, but there are still things out there that I've placed on a pedestal. The Cactus was one of those. (Added: 5-Jan-2004 Hits: 191)

The Last Samurai Reflections
I saw The Last Samurai a couple times this weekend. Fantastic movie... and inspiring too. One scene that really struck me in this movie was when Tom Cruise was play fighting with a child when one of the samurai comes up and motions for him to drop the play sword. Cruise's character doesn't do it. Instead, he fights the Samurai. (Added: 5-Jan-2004 Hits: 203)

The Right Way to Write
Did I tell you my beef against English teachers? (not universal, mind you) Well, senior year of high school, I actually liked Mr. Hakim. My brother Sean ravved about him when he was in school, but he's grading style eventually taught me that he didn't know jack! (Added: 5-Jan-2004 Hits: 219)

The You've Got Mail Phenomena
Finding true love online like the movie "You've Got Mail". (Added: 18-Mar-2003 Hits: 279)

War with Iraq
I started college in 1990 and came with a three-year Army ROTC scholarship. Yup. Once upon a time, I was planning to join the military to live the easy life... I mean, to defend our country. (Added: 5-Jan-2004 Hits: 206)

We're Second Best
Brobdingnagian Bards Voted Second Best Folk Band in Austin (Added: 3-May-2004 Hits: 221)

Yoga for Christians in Austin
I've been all over the web today doing research. Was looking up Attention Deficiency Disorder, and improving ones diet, and eventually, I made my way to yoga. It's interesting reading the different opinions on yoga. (Added: 5-Jan-2004 Hits: 209)
