Irish Lullaby by JR Shannon

This beautiful song talks about remembering a time when the singer's mother used to sing him a lullaby. Well my mom did the same to me. I don't know where she learned it, but it was one of the first songs I wanted to learn when Andrew and I started playing Celtic music.

This version is sung in the traditional Sean-nos style of singing. In Gaelic, "sean-nos" means traditional singing. This means it is sung a cappella, without any music at all. I recorded this version as a gift to The Lady in Green and liked it so much I decided to share it with the world.

Pig's Song by traditional

I love this song! I remember when I was younger, my dad would sing this to me. I think he'd heard the Smother's Brothers perform it, and my dad loves to perform. I think he took extreme delight in singing the woman's part, and I do too.

It was early last September
As near as I can remember
While strolling down a lane in tipsy pride
Not a word did I utter
As I lay down in the gutter
When this pig came up and lay there by my side

Not a soul was I disturbing
As I lay there by the curbing
When this high toned lady come
And I heard her say
You can tell a man who boozes
By the company he chooses

So the pig got up and slowly walked away
